The Hole Hill Explorer Unit is supported by the 5th Dorking URC, who are working with the District to an provide exciting programme for the Explorers.
The group is a mixture of 28 Boys and Girls from across the district with the numbers constantly growing.
The Explorer Scouts meet every other Tuesday around the District
Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth Section of the Scouting family. There are many types of Explorer Scout Units, some may be linked to your local Scout Group, others may be based around different activities.
The Unit meets during the week, but you will often be out and about at weekends or in the holidays doing activities. There will be times when you will be busy doing other things such as exams, and being an Explorer Scout will have to fit around these.
The unit’s members also take part in the Young Leaders’ Scheme, where young people are able to take on a leadership role in one of the younger sections across our district as part of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, please see the links below for more information.
Being outdoors is a big focus on their programme so they have many camps planned throughout the year!
Please contact the District Explorer Scout Commissioner (DESC) about joining the unit
